@Sylvestre: We have our own site now, http://jogamp.org, where you can also find the new SCM sites on either github or jogamp.org itself! This was mentioned in the post :) JOGL on Kenai is no more, long live JOGL :)

Cool. It is nice to know that you are still working on the JOGL.
Are you considering a push in the git repository ? The last commit into http://kenai.com/projects/jogl/sources/jogl-git/show is 7 months old.

Thanks!

Me again, Just interested in progress on "JOGL: Applets (part 2)"

Actually I'm just looking for a complete example using the above deployement descriptors, applet source code, what jars need to be where, what jvm flags are required, maybe newt based? Also I'm pretty useless around applets, but assuming I make use of the PersistenceService from jnlp, will my app run jogl without a certificate 'requesting unrestricted access'. I have it signed currently because I cach some objects locally and also write a client side logfile and prefferences. Sounds like the above combination combined with applet/jnlp combination should eliminate that? or are there other sandbox restrictions that might trip a jogl app up?

PS Great to see you are so active on JOGL these days! great job!

The current JOGL2 spec is in WIP state.
After double checking the GL version 1_4 and 1_5 additions,
it looks like we do not require them for our internals,
hence it shall work.
The only reason I pushed the min. required GL version in JOGL2 is
that we simply don't have a GL implementation < 1.5 to test.
As long you query / verify the extensions and available features,
you shall be fine.
BTW .. which platform do you use, which supports OpenGL 1.3 only ?

What about older versions than OpenGL 1.5? I use OpenGL 1.3, supporting only OpenGL 1.5 and later versions is not acceptable!

No, thank you .. we abandon the ugly SVN for good :)
But feel free to setup a SVN repository and maintain it, you can.
Everything not distributed (hg or git) is too weak nowadays ..

Sorry Dmitri ..
Yes, it is sponsored by Sun to some extend.
However, this is not a criteria for our decision.
*staging* is the buzzword in favor for git, but you are right,
somehow the difference might be negligible. We choose git, because we *think* it's better.
Sure, we cannot please everybody 'eh ? :)
Sorry ..

How about providing a nightly SVN snapshot from the git repository?

I'm sure everyone will be using git in a couple years time, just like we all migrated from CVS to SVN. But right now, SVN is really well supported in terms of tools. A simple nightly snapshot would make the JOGL sources available to all those not quite ready to make the jump to yet another SCM solution.
